Detachment Is The Key To Freedom.
25 "Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food and the body more than clothing? 26 Look at the birds of the air, for they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns; yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? 27 Which of you by worrying can add one cubit to his stature?
- Observe quiet times.
- Trust in God.
- Do not let the cares and worries of this earthly life deprive you of your spiritual life and growth.
- Do not allow so many desires to snatch away your peace of mind. This is because it is by peace of mind that you open the door of your heart for God to come in and become manifest in you and in your life.
- The race is not to the swift,
Nor the battle to the strong,
Nor bread to the wise,
Nor riches to men of understanding,
Nor favor to men of skill;
But time and chance happen to them all.
Ecclesiastes 9:11)
28 "So why do you worry about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin; 29 and yet I say to you that even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. 30 Now if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will He not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?
“You do not have any other work to do, except to be praising my good works (my name),” says the Lord.
31 "Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' 32 For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. 33 But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.
Develop a calm supremacy of the mind over life's changing situations. Learn to calmly active, and actively calm. Learn to in a state of peace, poise and balance (equanimity) …in praise and censor, in richness and poverty, level-headed in (honour and disrespect) ...
38 "You have heard that it was said, 'An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth.' 39 But I tell you not to resist an evil person. But whoever slaps you on your right cheek, turn the other to him also. 40 If anyone wants to sue you and take away your tunic, let him have your cloak also. 41 And whoever compels you to go one mile, go with him two. 42 Give to him who asks you, and from him who wants to borrow from you do not turn away.
Matthew 5:38-42
- Those who prove stubborn, violent or hard-hearted have their portion in the hell fire.
- Therefore, do not join them or emulate them.
- If your hand causes you to sin, cut it off.
- You cannot stop evil by repaying evil with evil. But you can stop evil by repaying evil with good.
